A charitable fun-fair for underprivileged children was organised by the Sadhu Vaswani Mission in connection with the ongoing THANKSGIVING WEEK Celebrations.

About 400 children from mobile creches and others from balwadis gathered together at the Mission Campus to watch a colourful programme put up by St. Mira's Primary School students.

Pune Mayor, Shri Dattatreya Rane lit the lamp to inaugurate the Mela. Dr. Shrikant Kelkar, Pune's leading ophthalmologist was the Chief Guest at the Function.

In an inspiring address to the children, Dada J. P. Vaswani urged them to realise the tremendous treasure of the Spirit locked inside each one of them, and march forward to build a brave New India of the future. "None of us poor", Dada observed. "God is with each one of us, and therefore, nothing is impossible for us."

Each child was presented with a school bag and given coupons with which to buy from a variety of delicacies on offer at the stalls.

Earlier in the day, a Free Gastro Enteritis Camp was held at the Mission's Inlaks & Budhrani Hospital. Patients who had registered earlier were given preliminary screening for gastro problems. Deserving patients were given appointments for further medication and treatment.

The week-long Thanksgiving Special Service Programme at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Pune, concluded with a ruh-rihan satsang addressed by Dada J. P. Vaswani, at the Brindavan, on the Mission Campus.

Addressing a jam-packed audience eager to attend to his every word, Dada J. P. Vaswani emphasised the secret of a truly happy and carefree life: walk with God today, and trust Him for the morrow.

Earlier in the day, over 1200 men, women, children, participated in an akhand kirtan and partook of a Dada Langar (fellowship meals).

As part of the week's Special Medical service Programme, three FREE CHECK UP CAMPS WERE CONDUCTED BY AN EXPERT-TEAM OF DOCTORS AT THE Mission's Inlaks & Budhrani Hospital. These included a gastro-Enterology Camp and two Cardiac Check-up Camps for children and adults. In all, over 300 patients who had registered earlier, underwent preliminary screening, which included free ECG and blood tests. Out of these, over 200 have been given appointments for further free tests, medication and treatment, including Stress Tests and Echo Cardiography. Free treatment including surgery will be offered to needy patients.

Other service activities of the Mission during Thanksgiving Week included the distribution of household articles and utility items to the poor, a free Fun Fair for children of mobile creches; free gas connections to needy households; and distribution of free bicycles to under privileged persons.

One of the highlights of the Week's Programme was the gathering of over800 distinguished physicians and surgeons of Pune, held at Hotel Le Meridien on Sunday, 20th Feb. which was one of the largest ever gathering of medical professiosnals for a non-medical occasion, was addressed by Dada J. P. Vaswani, who spoke to the doctors on "Positive Secrets of Health and Happiness."

The Thanksgiving Week is commemorated by the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, every year in gratitude to the Lord for restoring Dada J. P. Vaswani to good health after a critical by-pass surgery in Feb. 98.

The Thanksgiving Week was also observed by Sadhu Vaswani Centres all over the world and India.
